Ratanakiri: On November 20-21, 2025, The EQUAL-i3L Project, generously funded by Plan International Cambodia (PIC) and implemented by the Kampuchea Action to Promote Education (KAPE), successfully organized and launched a two-day teacher capacity building workshop. This specialized training was designed for teachers in the project's target schools, aiming to substantially elevate the quality and effectiveness of their instruction.

The workshop focused intensely on enhancing the competencies of a total of 65 teachers (33 female) from both primary and lower secondary levels on essential and highly relevant topics:

Innovative and Modern Teaching Methodologies: To shift teaching practices from traditional to student-centered approaches that actively stimulate critical thinking.

Integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education: Exploring how to effectively utilize AI as a powerful tool in educational work, specifically for researching general knowledge and diverse teaching materials, streamlining and deepening the preparation of daily lesson plans and sourcing new and engaging teaching aids.

Gender-Responsive Teaching and Learning Methodologies: Ensuring that education is delivered without discrimination, providing equal opportunities for all students (boys and girls), and fostering mutual respect within the classroom environment.

The core subject matter provided during the two-day workshop included a detailed focus on the Constructivism teaching approach, which encourages students to actively build knowledge through self-discovery, specifically via:

Inquiry-Based Learning: Encouraging students to question, investigate, and find answers independently.

Cooperative Learning: Boosting team spirit and peer-to-peer learning.

Project Work: Helping students apply theoretical knowledge to solve real-world problems.

Throughout the entire workshop, the participating teachers demonstrated profound interest in the new topics, especially the use of AI as a potent new tool. Each participant expressed a strong commitment, promising to immediately apply the newly acquired knowledge, skills, and strategies in their respective schools' teaching and learning activities. This dedication ensures that students will receive a better, higher-quality, and more engaging educational experience.

You, dear teachers, have truly demonstrated the highest professional spirit by actively participating in this crucial capacity-building workshop. From this moment on, you no longer hold just the role of a teacher, but of an architect of the future!

We have equipped you with new keys: From Constructivism strategies that foster analytical thinking, to the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) which makes teaching easier, more modern, and highly effective. This is your chance to become a Next-Generation Educator!
