The Happy Cambodian Children (HCC) project organized a highly meaningful initiative, a study visit and experience-sharing program, bringing together educators from Samraong Sre Sray Primary School and Daun Meas Primary School, both target schools in Kratie Province, to Hun Sen Aknuwat Primary School in Kampong Cham town. Held on April 30, 2025, this study visit initiative aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of effective teaching methodologies, classroom management techniques, and most importantly, school leadership and administrative strategies to enhance the quality of education.

The study visit initiative provided a valuable opportunity for teachers from the two target schools in Kratie to observe and learn from practical applications at Hun Sen Aknuwat Primary School. Participants engaged in knowledge exchange, sharing insights on modern teaching approaches, lesson planning, and the integration of technology in education. Classroom observations and group discussions enabled the visiting teachers to gain fresh ideas and strategies that they could implement in their own schools, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Ms. Sorn Somaly, Deputy Director of Hun Sen Aknuwat Primary School, delivered an inspiring speech, stating, “For a school to thrive, its leadership must demonstrate strong commitment and determination to drive positive change. A clear school development plan and transparent management of school and community funds are critical factors. In today’s digital era, leveraging technology in education has become essential. At our school, all teachers are equipped with personal computers and possess the skills to utilize digital tools, significantly enhancing the effectiveness of teaching and enabling students to access broader knowledge.”

The participating teachers expressed great enthusiasm and satisfaction with this invaluable opportunity. They acquired new knowledge and skills that will strengthen their teaching practices. Through discussions and shared experiences with their counterparts at Hun Sen Aknuwat Primary School, they gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of creating a joyful and motivating learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.

The Happy Cambodian Children project is supported by funding from the Kinchan Foundation, which is dedicated to improving access to inclusive education, particularly for children in remote and underserved areas. Beyond enhancing educational quality, HCC is committed to building a brighter future for Cambodian children by providing equitable learning opportunities and fostering high-quality educational environments.
