On October 2-3, 2025, Improving Digital Education for All Learners (IDEAL), with financial support from ChildFund Korea, hosted its capacity-building workshop on Library Management (Phase 3) at Prek Leap High School’s Hall for librarians from the project’s target schools.

The workshop focused on the following key areas:

- Understanding the role of libraries as a crucial component in supporting education.

- Highlighting the importance of reading and its role in fostering students’ literacy development.

- Sharing knowledge and personal experiences related to reading and the use of library resources.

- Introducing new methodologies for librarians to engage students in library activities.

Librarians will apply the knowledge gained from the workshop, including book classification methods, library administrative management, and content comprehension through questioning. These skills aim to equip librarians with the tools needed to manage libraries effectively because it is a vibrant place, staying concentrated on learning.

Mrs. khek sokim, a librarian at Pothi Reamea Primary School, expressed her personal interest by saying:
“I am truly happy that the IDEAL project organized such a useful training course on library management. It helped librarians gain a clearer understanding of roles in fulfilling library duties. The training covered key points such as cataloging books, classifying book categories, reading and questioning techniques, and organizing the library to be more accessible, attractive, and resourceful for students to enjoy reading. These key points are insightful for me as a librarian to plan activities that promote reading within the school.”

The workshop was organized by KAPE, in collaboration with Good Neighbors Cambodia and World Diakonia, to strengthen librarians’ capacity to actively promote reading activities that benefit student learning.
