Parent Show 2025
Date : 2025-07-29

The Parent Show 2025, organized by the New Generation School - Hun Sen Kampong Cham High School last week, was a significant event showcasing the talents and creativity of students. The event aimed to provide a platform for students to display their work, encourage active community participation, and promote innovative learning.
Held annually, the exhibition focuses on presenting student projects that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application. It also offers an opportunity for parents and stakeholders to view over 288 projects created by nearly 400 students. These projects were developed through activities in 13 student clubs, including the Science Club, Chemistry Club, Physics Club, Arts Club, English Club, and others.
"This event provides an opportunity for parents and stakeholders to witness over 288 projects created by students through theoretical learning and practical application. Thirteen student clubs, such as the Science Club, Chemistry Club, Arts Club, and English Club, contributed to an impressive array of projects, with nearly 400 students participating. Additionally, 86 students won a total of 151 medals, including 37 gold, 70 silver, and bronze, from national and international competitions. This progress is the result of encouragement from parents, who contributed over 10 million riels in funding, and the guidance of dedicated teachers. We are grateful for the support from KAPE and the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport, which have promoted the New Generation School Initiative since 2015. This event not only provides theoretical knowledge but also fosters practical skills to prepare students for further education and societal integration. Support from all stakeholders has motivated students to continue producing high-quality work year after year," said Mr. Soeung Van, Principal of the New Generation School - Hun Sen Kampong Cham High School.
The exhibition's highlight was the creative project displays, where students showcased environmentally friendly products such as reusable water bottles and items made from recycled materials. Each booth was beautifully decorated, with students on hand to explain the concepts and purposes behind their projects. Visitors also participated in DIY (Do It Yourself) activities to try creating simple products themselves.
Students collaborated on projects addressing the environmental impact of plastic use. Through interactive presentations, images, and videos, they highlighted the dangers of non-biodegradable plastics, such as water pollution and harm to aquatic life. They also proposed practical solutions, such as using cloth bags and recycling, to reduce plastic consumption.
Students also raised awareness about the health and social impacts of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes). They presented health risks, such as damage to lungs and heart, and engaged visitors with interactive quizzes and data on e-cigarette use trends among youth.
"Our club has been active for seven months with about 25 members. We produced ginger tea, lemongrass tea, pineapple tea, and the 9th group created scented candles, salted duck eggs, weaving, and products from banana leaves for display at this event. Our group also used artificial intelligence technology to research tea, which accelerated our work. Teamwork has been very beneficial to our studies because we learned how to collaborate and share ideas, which is wonderful," said Visal Hu, a 10th-grade student at the New Generation School – Hun Sen Kampong Cham High School.
The event included knowledge competitions on environmental and health topics, covering subjects like recycling, energy conservation, and the impacts of modern technology and chemistry. Winners received prizes, encouraging participation and further learning.
Yily Buny, a 9th-grade student representing the History Club, said: "Our teacher guided us in selecting topics, and we started researching five months ago. We used Google to create the projects displayed today, which made us happy because we gained a deeper understanding of history and saw the results of our nearly year-long efforts. Without joining this club, we wouldn’t have learned as much. Teamwork helped us work faster because we supported each other. I urge the school and the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport to continue organizing this parent show annually and sustain such clubs."
The event also featured captivating art performances, with students presenting short plays and dances about environmental protection and Khmer culture. These performances conveyed messages about collective responsibility for preserving the planet.
Eighty-six students participated in national and international competitions in subjects like mathematics, STEM, and English, winning a total of 151 medals, including 37 gold, 70 silver, and bronze. These achievements reflect the students’ growing skills and competencies.
Ms. Sok Sreyneth, a parent, shared: "After visiting the displayed projects, I saw many accomplishments by the students. They are hardworking, intelligent, and quick-witted, and the teachers have done an excellent job guiding them. The New Generation School has made significant progress, which is why I enrolled my child here. Frankly, I’m impressed by the teachers’ dedication and efficiency, even with rain falling since morning. The students worked diligently to showcase their projects from early morning despite the rain. I feel my child has truly progressed year after year in thinking, intelligence, confidence, and courage. Studying here, my child has good friends and excellent teachers, meeting my expectations. This parent show has sparked creativity in students, and I hope it continues next year."
The event received strong support from parents, who contributed over 10 million riels. KAPE and the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport have provided technical and financial support since 2015, helping the New Generation School Initiative become a model for modern education.
The Parent Show 2025 demonstrated students’ progress in developing practical skills and competencies. Through community participation and support from all stakeholders, the event has become a driving force for sustainable education. We hope it will continue to inspire positive change in the community.
